So, something I've wanted to talk about for a while now is how I feel about what I do. I know for most of my watchers (btw, there's over 1000 of you, wow!), they don't care about why or how I make something as long as I produce some kind of content. But for myself, I see my works as a facet to explore something that otherwise doesn't exist in the real world. I try to make stories that someone can picture in the real world, not just outlandish scenarios. I care about the details and subtlety of a story. And I think that gets lost on a lot of my fans. 

It's no secret that the captions that get the most positive response are the ones that have a skinny, naked girl, with big boobies. The problem is though, is that pictures like that limit the story I can tell. I hate HATE writing stories similar to ones I've already made. It makes me feel like a weaker writer. And, honestly, one of my main reasons for writing captions is to hone my skills as a writer. I'm not an "artist" in the traditional sense, and most of my works aren't visual art. They are literary works at their core. What makes me unhappy is when I create a story that I'm thrilled with, but because the picture I use isn't the standard, half of my watchers will immediately ignore it. 

Now, I don't expect high ratings on my captions, but I do look at the feedback they receive through favorites, views, and comments. If something has been viewed 5,000 times, but only has 60 faves, I will avoid making something like that again. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm disappointed when a story that I personally believe is really good, gets swept under the "rug" because it doesn't adhere to the guidelines of: naked, model/pornstar body, and guy to girl.

Back on track.. I think that a lot of the caption community is lazy at this point, and I'm guilty of it too. If you were to go back a year and read through my captions, you'll find them to be quite similar in plot to the ones I made this year. So, I try to experiment, branch out, but those captions get not negative, but lackluster feedback. It dissuades me from continuing down that path for stories. That's why losing a writer like WishingWithWhitney is such a shame. She was truly one of the best caption writers of our era. 

I write captions because I want to share my interest with others. I think they're a great form of entertainment, and I don't want them to be reduced to the same old formula of a magic wand turning a guy into a hot girl. I want a plot and I want details, and I hope that y'all do too. For those who do enjoy my experimental works, I'm glad for you continued support. But for those who click off of them before having a read, I encourage you to read the story, you might find it more enjoyable than you think.
